This documentary protests the brutalities committed against the LBGTT community in Brazil. In a society dominated by machismo and religious and moralist values, the lack of rights for LGBTT community has already lead to the deaths of thousands of Brazilian citizens. Hate crimes come from different segments of society with the Catholic Church and radical evangelical groups contributing to the rising intolerance as they actively campaign against the rights of sexual minorities in the country.

This film documents the struggle for autonomy of the inhabitants of the region known as the “Comarca Kuna Yala” located on the Caribbean coast of Panamá. Documenting the Kuna people’s contact with local authority figures as well as their interaction with international politicians in their efforts to preserve their culture and history in the second half of the 20th century, this film represents a renewed effort to maintain a sense of autonomy in the region.
